The Cambridge Beer Festival needs you!

The festival is run entirely by unpaid volunteers. They come from all walks of life and give up their valuable time to make the event a success. Without volunteers the beer festival would not take place.

We are always in need of volunteers. Even if you can only do one shift or even just a few hours to cover meal breaks, it would help us tremendously.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us in the past – you are amazing! Please do volunteer again, we’d love to see you.

45th Cambridge Beer Festival

We need over 400 volunteers to make the festival happen. However, it’s not just bar work where we need help. While we are open to the public from Monday 21 May until Saturday 26 May, we also need volunteers from setup to take-down – Wednesday 16 May to Wednesday 30 May.

Although we need volunteers for every session, in previous years we have been very short of help for the Thursday–Saturday of opening (24–26 May) and the Sunday and Monday of take-down (27 and 28 May).

What do volunteers do?

Before we can open the festival to the public, we need volunteers to help us build the site. Enthusiasm and willingness to help are the most important skills to have,  and training will be provided where needed. However, if you have a trade such as plumbing or electrics, then that is particularly useful.

When we are open, we need people to work on the front entrance, sell glasses, serve at the bars and the cheese counter, pick up litter, and much more.

Finally, there is the take-down phase, where we pack everything away, clear the site and return Jesus Green to its pristine state. As with the setup there are a wide range of jobs, across many disciplines.

The benefits of volunteering include free food, some free beer or cider, a volunteer T-shirt and the chance to meet old friends and make new ones.
